I cant imagine life without...

Today my class and I were working on what we can't imagine life without. So the main thing is whatever we wanted in life. Miss thought this as a fun activity. I thought it was very easy but figuring things that I wanted was difficult. I really enjoyed doing this kind of task.

Finally we rule the school

Our teachers were proudly kind to let us have a funday out involving the senior side of our school. The intermediate classes were lucky enough to set up games and manage their own game that they made up or selected from the teacher. The yr 7 and 8’s are very grateful that we were the boss for once and that we could prove the little ones wrong. I was really impressed with the yr 8’s on how they got to manage others. There were all sorts of games such as tug-o-war, parachute balls, hoola hoop chain, dress up, racing in sacks and slippery slide. That was one of the funniest days in my life. That day was very enjoyable for every child that participated.

Enlargement

Screenshot 2016-11-30 at 09.32.25.pngScreenshot 2016-11-30 at 09.35.41.png
This afternoon my class and I were working on a enlargement which was a image that we chose. First we had to choose an image that is simple to insert it into a grid so it can help us when we did it on the asphalt outside. Next we had to go outside and draw the grid accurately and the draw the picture we chose and figure out the scale factor. Enlarging the picture outside was very easy, but the drawing the picture was very difficult. In my enlargement each square metre was 1 cm equals 30 cm which made my enlargement quite larger than others. I learnt a lot doing this new topic, I learnt how to count the squares and draw. I also learnt how to measure accurately.

It swallowed the surface. It looked so strange because it was creating mountains. It sounded like my air conditioner in my car but much louder. The snow was clashing against the buildings, it felt like it had a mind of it’s own because it was setting alarms off. The wind so powerful it made me feel like I was sky diving vertically. I can taste sugar sized snow. I can smell smoke from the local houses because of the weather. The wind nearly tearing my clothes off.

The beach

Walt: write a paragraph using figurative language.

The beach

I walked all day long on the beach spent hours pulling heels to the front of my toes with each mile travelled. So still I stepped dragging myself. My toes blistered and numb. My feet are the strength of 100 men.

Personification poem

The Beach
Once I arrive at the best beach with the
scorching hot sun reflecting off my glasses,
once I stomped on the the sand it was like it had been
hot nesquick sand which made my feet sink.

Walt: write a paragraph on personification
Ahhhhh that simulating draught entering from the gap of the window. It couldn't be more better than this, but then something better had been Offered. It was a whole afternoon at the most splendid beach in the world as what I would think. The surface of the beach was so flocculent. The water swallowed the sand and even kissed the shore line. The waves curled like my brothers hair.

Writing assessment

Today my class and I were writing a writing assessment on this picture. We had to write it in a narrative. The aim of this picture was to tell any story that this old man is telling to his children grandchildren or brother and sister.

2016 Olympic games - Athletics

DING DING DING….. My alarm sets off muzzling my ears, I slam the reset button and dash into the bathroom for a refreshing hot shower. After I finished I forged thru the door and packed for the Rio Olympics 2016. Then I stormed outside with my luggage and yelled “TAXI!”As soon as I departed at the airport I gradually ask for help with all my luggage. I rushed to my private jet and swooped to the Rio Olympics 2016 in a flash. I ask for my best breakfast meal, pancakes after eating that I felt pumped.

When I approached the door I was getting ready for my dramatic exit. The door had a jammed fault which made my dramatic exit deeply embarrassing. As I stumbled down the stairs I discovered my biceps were quite solid. Then I asked my navigator which is the direction to the drug test area, he replied right this way sir. Once I got there I saw dozens of famous olympians. Then the DT chemist pounded the needle in my main vein which was in my  wrist and drained 3ml of my blood and took it for a test. She disappointedly walked right towards me, tuned her voice and said “unfortunately your blood came up positive which means you are now not in the Olympics 2016, you must leave now, security.”

I blundered down to the exit and threw a little tantrum and yelled “I did not take drugs you have to believe me.” I struggled to think who would want to give me steroids. Then I came up with a theory and that was to call in a meeting with everyone I was with before I arrived at Rio. Then I thought it could be the person that handed me my pancakes. So I said to myself I must avenge my career. Once all of them arrive I asked for a private meeting with the waiter inside the jet. I irritated him untill he would tell the truth, but unfortunately I couldn't come up with anything else so I release him and sent everybody home.

I took a seat and sighed and I said “ I am missing something I just got to think? Ohh I got it the cameras operating in the jet.
I ask the tech professional to look into the cameras codes for 5 hours ago. He takes a look and discovered he did shatter drugs inside your pancakes. I took this convincing evidence to Judge “James” to prove that I did not take steroids to diminish my strength. They caught the waiter and took him to jail. Then I got told that I am still competing in the Rio Olympics 2016 and in 15 minutes the 100m sprint will start. On your marks, Get set, Go!! I sprint as fast as I was capable to and finished 1st even though some people jumped the gun, I also made a world record. I made history that day.

Taking shelter

Screenshot 2016-08-30 at 11.14.03.png
As Dylan was searching for food he heard a loud rumble echoing around the whole rain forest, rattling the trees which surprised every animal in the forest. That was a sign for Dylan to get set for the rain so he tugged a large leaf off a fossil tree. He comfortably sat on a stump branch.

As soon as the rain started his companions shot off somewhere in the rainforest also looking for shelter. Dylan tucked his legs beneath the silhouette of the large leaf protecting his feet and arms. He gripped his hand around the stem of the leaf. The rain was toppling on the large leaf like impatient fingers. As it kept raining his grip got looser and looser so he, selected a branch above him so he can stick his leaf on it using sap. Then suddenly Sssssshhhhhh a lightning struck a nearby tree.

Dylan was so frightened he fell off the tree damaging his shoulder, which made him weaker for him to feed his companions. He quickly climbed back up the tree and sat down. He gave the leaf more grip so it would not collapse as he was going to sleep. A sunrise later he woke up waiting for his companions to arrive.

When he woke up he looked at the beautiful scenery. The sun was scorching hot, it was blazing in Dylan's eyes. A few minutes later his companions came looking like they were hungry so Dylan went looking for food.

Estimating corn

Estimating corn

Screenshot 2016-03-11 at 09.51.40.pngThis morning my group and I had to estimate and find the actual of a cob. Mrs Ramkalawan gave each group a piece of corn. She told us to estimate how much husk there was on the piece of corn that Mrs Ramkalawan gave us. My group and I agreed that the number of husk was 8. Then we had to find the actual of the husk. We started to gently tear each husk off the cob. The actual we got was 8. I was happy that our group were good at estimation. Then we had to estimate the silk and then find actual. After that we had to count the kernels on the corn. I had a very great time working the estimation of the cob and finding out the actual of the cob.

Memories with my mum

                                    Memories with my mum

Well it’s nearly going to be mother's day. I think of getting her something she deserves for the happy memories and fun moments we had in the the past and in recent times. I just can’t stop thinking of all the memories we had, like when I went to my first rugby game, my parents wedding, the day I could walk and the most important memory in my life is when my brother arrived.

We had a enjoyable family time. The fun moments I had was when I learnt how to ride a bike, my 5 birthday and my first time at school. The bad moments and memories was when my mum got very sick she had to go hospital and when my brother had to get his first Immunization ingestion. Sometimes I got a lot of hidings but those hidings were for reasons. Well now I have overcame those bad moments and now I am making new lovable memories.

Sometimes I muck up in life and then I go back to my usually me. I use to get into fights in the past but I now am just a usual boy playing with my friends trying to get a good education. When I grow up my mum wants me to go UNIVERSITY and then be a lawyer, but my dad tells me to be whatever I want to be but find a good job that will pay your bills. Now I know that she loves me for who I am.  I love my mum and I will never stop loving her.

Animorphs

Animorphs 14/8/15

At school I have been reading this fabulous book. It is called animorphs. Animorphs is about humans evolving into vicious creatures. The creatures that they can turn into is a bear, alien, tiger, gorilla and a crazy pilot. I like this book because it is a very entertaining story about how they got their powers. Pr. S. Jeff injected them with an humanimal fluid.

Muffin baking

Screenshot 2016-08-04 at 10.18.24.png
A few days ago my friend Zain and I got an opportunity to bake 25 muffins for my class (Room8), but before we started mixing the ingredients we needed the equipment. Once all of that was sorted we read the method on how to bake the muffins. After we added the ingredients we started to mix which was quite messy. Then we poured the mixture in each muffin cup and added chocolate sprinkles. When we finished mixing we sent it to the staff room for baking. 15 minutes later we ate, it was delicious.

If you would like to make these muffins follow these ingredients:
  • 3 cups of Edmonds sweet flour
  • 3 eggs
  • ⅔ cup of Vegetable oil
  • 1 cup of water

Follow this method:
  • Poor 3 cups of Edmond sweet flour into a large bowl
  • Crack the eggs accurately and poor inside the bowl
  • Grab the ⅔ of vegetable oil and poor inside the bowl
  • Poor the ½ cup of water inside the bowl

Once you have poured everything in start mixing until you think it looks alright. When you have finished mixing. Pour the mixture into each muffin cup and put in oven and keep it on 190 degrees, Time it for 15 minutes. When finished please enjoy.

Cook Island Language Week

Today a group of people from the Auckland Museum came and introduced themselves and their names were Miriama and Tau and they had a couple of friends. They basicly came to teach us more knowledge on Cook Islands and how they survive throughout the lands. I learnt a lot about boats, I learnt that there are all sorts of boats such as Vaka and more. I also learnt that cook islands use niu to keep the structure of the boat stable. Once I learnt all about their facts they showed us how they make holes for them to tie the wood up. It is some sort of drill but it is not activated by electricity, it was made by hand. It is very difficult to use but once we tried it and it was actually simple. We played some activities which was fun. I really enjoyed that day. Using the the Cook Island drill was a unique experience.

Everyday Theatre

collage.jpg
Today my class and I were greeted by two lovely women and their names were Kaitlyn and Julie, but you could call Kaitlyn, Florida. Once she arrived she ran us through what we would be doing. Julie was a great actor, but unfortunately after doing the acts she left to room 7 to share some fun activities.

The characters that Kaitlyn and her partner were acting as were Jack T’s friend, Maraea the mother, Dave the dad, Brian the mother's boyfriend, Becca who helps people with their homework. Ohh and also Most of the character are so arrogant, especially Dave the father. Apparently they were in a family crisis. -

After playing the fun activities she told us more about her. Kaitlyn had to leave at approximately 12:00pm. As we were playing the activities we were earning bonus points which would lead to a prize, but the problem was we only had 3 lives so every time we interupt her we lose a life. I really enjoyed that day, I hope one day we could play that again.

Matching metaphors

WALT: match metaphors with their meaning in sport and nonsport activities.
Screenshot 2016-07-29 at 11.02.11.png

Yesterday my class and I were playing a metaphor match activity game. The aim of the game was to match the metaphors with the real meaning and split them into sport metaphors and nonsport metaphors, but before we started we got splitted into groups of 4. As you can see I am working with my 3 best friends. I thought the best metaphor was jump the gun which means when I person starts before the cap gun goes off, I also used that word in my writing. I really enjoyed playing this metaphor game with my friends.

Yesterday afternoon my class and I were decorating muffins, using repetitive patterns. But unfortunately the rule was only 3 element and 2 fruit. The options we got were cereal, kiwi fruit, apple, mandarins, sunflower seeds and raisins. The 3 elements I chose were kiwi fruit, mandarin and cereal. As you can see I am on a table with a couple of student with me. I have to admit some of my friends decorating was extraordinary. The plan was to make the best decoration and win a prize. The chosen winner was Ketura. I really enjoyed decorating my muffin.

I have been inspired

A few days ago a man named Dreydon came along and started talking to my class about goal setting, but unfortunately I could not be there because I was ill but I heard a lot about that day. When Dreydon arrived he showed us his planning on goal setting.

Now that has said that I will actually help my mum with house chores and help her cook to get me out of bed. A group of people and Dreydon went for a 80km walk down the hillary trail to raise money for our school and others. Once the came back they introduced themselves and gave us a overall $4,600. I was impressed with them when they walked the hillary trail.

The main goal he wanted us to do was use S.M.A.R.T motivation. They made their goal that day and that was to complete the walk in 24 hours. Dreydon and the group of people that went on the walk really inspired me by being a good egg. I was so amazed how far they could walk. A few weeks later he sent a big package with 2 letter inside and 6 packets of pineapple lumps for us to have a little treat, they were really delicious. I have my main goal now, it is stay fit and have a good education.
