For the last few days my class and I have been writing all about corn. We have even written an information report. When we were studying all about corn we learnt lots about the europeans and the maoris. I now know that James Cook brang corn new zealand. I really enjoyed drawing my painting. The most difficult part was painting. I hope we can make another piece of art.

The lyrebird

Lyrebird
A lyrebird is a complex bird. It can be located in South Australia.  The lyrebird makes different imitating sounds. It makes frightening sounds such as car alarms, chainsaws and camera shots. It can also trick kookaburra. The lyrebird clears a path for female birds to show off his beautiful feathers. The lyrebird can imitate 20 different birds. The bird can make beautiful songs to make the female birds like him. A lyrebird makes interesting sounds. I wonder why do the make those noises

The lyrebird has magnificent hazel and white feathers. It’s beak is long and black and it has rough orange skinny legs. I go and complete my exploring for my journal. I go and look for that lyrebird that I was talking about. I search and I search. Then I finally find it singing and flicking it’s beautiful feathers. I start writing and then all of a sudden it started making chainsaw noises. I was hoping for it to trick a kookaburra. I finish writing all the noises he was making. Next he finally did it and I knew I had to quickly write that down. I quietly take off and I walk to the camping site. I set up my tent. I waited until tomorrow and I went looking for something else to write about.

Then I go and take pictures of something else.

For the past few weeks my class and I have been learning all about graphs. Last week we made a survey of how people like their corn. Then our teacher decided for us to finally make a graph online.I kind of struggled making these graphs. I found making the graphs kind of difficult.  Lauren helped to understand it and to use the online tools. I would like to have more practice drawing graphs online.

Estimating corn

Estimating corn

Screenshot 2016-03-11 at 09.51.40.png
This morning my group and I had to estimate and find the actual of a cob. Mrs Ramkalawan gave each group a piece of corn. I worked in a group of three. Mrs Ramkalawan told us to estimate how much husk there was on the piece of corn that Mrs Ramkalawan gave us. My group and I agreed that the number of husk was 8. Then we had to find the actual of the husk. We started to gently tear each husk off the cob. The actual we got was 8. I was happy that our group were good at estimation. Then we had to estimate the silk and then find actual. After that we had to count the kernels on the corn. I had a very great time working the estimation of the cob and finding out the actual of the cob. I really wished that we could of used probability.

The croc and uncle James

The croc and uncle James

My uncle James always has pale skin,
blushed cheeks,
long blond and brown hair and
gloomy orchid eyes.

Nothing was clear with all this fog covering the nice view. My uncle lives in a rotten lake. He loved weathers like this. One day I've  seen him go fishing again. I wrapped myself in a blanket like I was a taco. I stumbled down the hallway to the front door. Then I asked myself “where is he going?”. Then he jumped on his boat and went fishing. I was wondering where he is going. He never goes on his boat to fish. I yelled wait for me uncle James. He made a stop and I jumped in with him.

“What are you doing uncle James”. I am looking for a crocodile Huntah. Then we drove looking for one. Then boom a crocodile bulged over our boat and made it flip upside down like the titanic. My uncle sank down the lake. He could not swim because his arms were weak. I took off and rushed to find a life jacket. I searched and searched. I saw a life jacket floating near a dangerous shore. We finally got home safely.

I swam crazy to the life jacket. Suddenly a big olive drab dove right over a head. I swam as fast as I could to shore. I finally have it. But the horrifying croc was circling the boat. I did not care about that croc I just wanted to save uncle james. So I dove into the lake and breast stroked down to the deep deep bottom to save my uncle. I squeezed him and swam him to the nearest shore.

A ride in a ferrari

A ride in a ferrari
I really would like to have a ride in a ferrari with a nice gentleman driving me home. I would love it Mrs Ramkalawan would pick me. I think I should get picked because I have been quite through the week. I know sometimes I've been a pain in the but. I wonder what kind of ferrari will it be. I know all sorts of ferraris. I keep telling myself
be good this year Huntah don’t muck up. I tell myself that everyday just to remind me to stay on task. The reason I really should go for a ride in a nice ferrari. I have been nice to my friends and I have been helpful to them. I hope this man is a sensible driver. My mum will be surprised if I was in a ferrari. At the same time mu mum might, be at work. If I ride in a ferrari it will be a lifetime opportunity.
