The very first activity that my group and I were sent to was experiencing old school toys. Most of the toys were made out of wood. There was a lot of impressive and unbelievable toys that were not used in my neighbourhood or any other I know. As we werse passing out toys on I thought how did they make these in the 1950’s. I really enjoyed playing with the toys, I wish I could keep all of them.
I am a Year 8 student at Glen Innes School in Auckland. I am in Room 8 and my teacher is Mrs Ramkolowan.

Walht: Identify a rhombus
Vocabulary: Diagonal, parallel, right angle, 900, bisect, polygon, specialised, degrees. Parallelogram, opposite, arrows,
|
This morning my class and I were learning how to identify a rhombus. We were using a matariki seven stars sheet to indicate the rhombus. There are arrows that represent the parallel lines. There are also 2 diagonals the must always bisect by making a 900 angle if it is measured accurately. I found this lesson quite easy. I learnt that a rhombus has:
- Specialised 4 sided shape
- 2 opposite parallel lines
- Diagonals bisect each other

Show not tell
The Highlanders mouths were wide open like the sun. Their piercing cheer reached the whole of the crowd as they go wild. They throw their hands up like their touching the moon and their legs were so restless. So much hugging and support was brang towards the Highlanders. Most of the players hips wouldn’t stop grooving. They were so smelly and sweaty, but it was worth it.
The Lions had so much stress on their faces. Their eyes gringed. There mouths frowned as low as they could. There was also some tears. Their hands wrapped around each player and and over there heads. There was barely a cheer coming out of their mouths or the crowd, but there was a little bit of support. They were also stinky, at least they had tried.

Interactive math games
I really liked this game it was very simple. The easy part was when I had to figure out how much unit cubes were on the bottom layer. If I play this game again I would really like it to be more challenging so I can improve in my maths.
This morning my class and I were learning more about perimeter, height, volume and area using these interactive math sites. I really thought that this helped me a lot. I really thought that these games were difficult which was good, it was more challenging for me. I really enjoyed these games next I will like to learn more on geometry.

Visualising
The soft fur of the dog felt like silk against my skin and her black coloring glistened as it absorbed the sunlight, reflecting it back as a perfect, deep, dark mirror.
Today my class and I were learning how to visualise a text inside our head. Then we had to draw the picture to match the text. We found out how to visualise. We used 5 senses, had to think critically, use prior knowledge, ideas and information. I really enjoyed how to visualise things in my head, it was like making a movie in my head.

I am a Whistle and Softball
What have I done
to be pitched through the air
just facing the bat
brings tears.
I hate being the ball
But now It’s clear. I don’t
Belong here so I should
get clear.
I get blowed for what reason,
Just to command a
Game that is played every season
Just thinking of
The game gives me fear all for
What, just to make the crowd cheer
