Elephant toothpaste

Today me and my class were lucky enough to create elephant toothpaste. First we were split up into 3 groups. After that we read what the method and the ingredients. The ingredients were:

• Hydrogen peroxide
• Food coloring
• Dishwashing liquid
• Warm water
• Yeast

The main ingredient was the hydrogen peroxide because without that it wouldn’t be able to rise or form in the normal form. We have been learning about chemical changes for 2 weeks and elephant toothpaste is a chemical change because it was formed into a new substance. It was irreversible. I really enjoyed experimenting with my group. I wish I could do another experiment similar to elepahnt toothpaste.

Chemical change

In the morning my class were making pancakes to prove that there is a chemical change. First we had to wash our hands so no germs could get on the ingredients. Once everyone arrived we were told how to make it. Many people had their own jobs for making the pancakes. Unfortunately me and some of my friends were not available to help.

In the beginning of the procedure they added ingredients to put in the oven. After mixing the ingredients, the heat from the oven caused it to bubble which released gas. As it was in the oven it started to get foamy. After it was done it was finally edible, a new substance.

Warriors visit

Today my class and I were lucky enough to meet two warrior players and one community ambassador. They were asking many many questions based on Hydration, Sleep, Trivia and Belongings. They talked to us why this things are important. their names were Zach, Junior. Two that I really need is sleep and hydration. These things help me with sports and to stay focus in class. I really like the warriors
