Next we went to experience how it was to learn in the 1900’s. It was very strict and there was a lot of discipline. It felt like it was a hard time back in the 1900’s. She taught us how to multiply and how to focus, if we did not listen the was bad consequences. They used boards made out of rock and there pencils were also made out of rock. I really did enjoy being in a old school it was a once in a lifetime experience.

Howick historical village - Butter making

After the school we were learning how to make butter. SHe made the butter using milk from the cows. She skimmed the cream off the milk and kept it inside a jar. Then she chose everybody to help her mix it until it would eventually turn into milk. I few minutes later the butter was made, but there was still butter milk still inside the jar so she emptied every single drip out using water and a purifying cloth. I really enjoyed learning how to make butter. Now I know how to make butter.

Howick Historical village - Toys

collage.jpg

The very first activity that my group and I were sent to was experiencing old school toys. Most of the toys were made out of wood. There was a lot of impressive and unbelievable toys that were not used in my neighbourhood or any other I know. As we werse passing out toys on I thought how did they make these in the 1950’s. I really enjoyed playing with the toys, I wish I could keep all of them.
